1792 - Aged Twelve Years (2019)
Appearance / Color
Brilliant amber
Nose / Aroma / Smell
Warm aromas of vanilla, toasted oak, and toffee abound.
Flavor / Taste / Palate
Classic Bourbon — a creamy mouthfeel with notes of pralines, roasted wood, and a hint of stone fruits.
Finish
The finish is long and warm.
The Barton 1792 Distillery has been in operation since 1874. It gets the name “1792” from the year Kentucky became an official state in the United States of America, and it’s also the name of one of their signature single barrel Bourbon Whiskies. The Barton 1792 Distillery and Barton Brands are owned by Sazerac — one of America’s largest Spirits companies. They control dozens of brands from low end to high end — mostly American Whiskies and Bourbons — that are distributed around the world. The 1792 line of products are all premium, high-end Bourbons. 1792 12 Year Old is a limited edition Bourbon offering from Barton — it was officially announced on June 27th, 2019. Master Distiller Danny Kahn seems particularly proud of this release that follows the same mash bill as their core small batch offering. But it is aged a full twelve years — a very pleasant number indeed
