Blanton’s Straight From The Barrel (SFTB) is the cask-strength, single-barrel pinnacle of the Blanton’s lineup—bottled exactly as it comes from the barrel (unfiltered and undiluted), so proof varies by barrel and release. Like all Blanton’s, it traces back to 1984 when Master Distiller Elmer T. Lee launched the first modern single-barrel bourbon in honor of Col. Albert B. Blanton. The brand is closely associated with metal-clad Warehouse H in Frankfort, whose quick temperature swings are believed to intensify wood interaction. For many years SFTB was export-only; beginning in 2020 it has seen limited U.S. drops, remaining highly allocated. It shares the higher-rye Mashbill #2 DNA with Blanton’s Original (93 proof) and Blanton’s Gold (103 proof), creating a proof “ladder” that’s perfect for side-by-side education.
